Guidlines: Normal Fetal Heart Rate is usually between 110 and 200 beats per minute. The fetal heart rate may change as your baby responds to conditions in mother’s womb. Since, its a doppler therefore it is user dependent and requires practice to operate. Results can vary depending upon the operator’s skill, practice and technique. It is recommended to slowly detect the fetal heart rate from the lower abdomen upwards.
Use Couplant/Gel: The product does not contain any couplant/gel. We recommend using a couplant instead of the common aloe vera gel, also known as ultrasonic couplant.
When Best to Use: Perfect to listen and record your unborn baby’s heartbeat when he/she is 12+ weeks.
How to Use Correctly: After turning on the device, apply gel on the probe, lie down flat and relax, press the probe on the belly with a little force, and slowly move the probe (use a slow circular motion) to search for fetal heart rate. When you hear a regular roaring sound, it is the fetal heartbeat (at this time, you need to press the probe firmly, and the machine will measure the fetal heart rate in a few seconds). It is better to start just above the pubic bone (midline of the abdomen). Move the probe slowly in small circles (press gently). Angle the probe slightly downwards (towards the pelvis).
Note: Please hear the correct fetal heart sound before looking at the numbers. If no regular fetal heart sound is heard, the number displayed by the machine is invalid. Best Time to Use: Get up in the morning (within 30 minutes), within 60 minutes after lunch, within 30 minutes of bedtime.
Fetal Heart Position Reference Map: First trimester (12-24 weeks) belly button ~ 5 points below left, middle and right. Second trimester (24-32 weeks) the midline of the navel and the 4 points below it. Third trimester (32-40 weeks) extend 4 points in the oblique direction of the navel.
